Looks good to me! I'm excited to have this merged. The ability to have new semver tags to notify as a global setting is going to be very useful.

The one comment I have is a suggestion to include an example of configuring for global semver tags. I think that's not an uncommon use case that this enables and it may be helpful to show people how it could be done. I could add an example in another PR though. Possibly in some other section of documentation like "examples".

Yes we could have an example in "User guides" section for this matter but not in reference docs.
