Description
Describe the bug
When settings rollup options for the watcher those are ignored / not passed to rollup by vite.
Meaning this does not work:
build: {
rollupOptions: {
watch: { allowInputInsideOutputPath: true },
},
}See reproduction below.
Alternative I considered is to use the vite option for watch but that will always trigger watching sources - but I want to do it conditionally based on the vite flag (e.g. to have npm run build and npm run watch), see also #20657 .
Reproduction
Steps to reproduce
Just run npx vite build --watch

- Follow our Code of Conduct
- Read the Contributing Guidelines.
- Read the docs.
- Check that there isn't already an issue that reports the same bug to avoid creating a duplicate.
- Make sure this is a Vite issue and not a framework-specific issue. For example, if it's a Vue SFC related bug, it should likely be reported to vuejs/core instead.
- Check that this is a concrete bug. For Q&A open a GitHub Discussion or join our Discord Chat Server.
- The provided reproduction is a minimal reproducible example of the bug.
