Virtual Temperature 'jaggies'

Howdy all, loving the flexibility offered by this module!

I have a question about Virtual Temp readings. It seems mine is really aggressive, resulting in these jaggy graphs. The jump up is because I run the pump for 10mins every hour, giving me an accurate reading from the pump, which resets the virtual temp up again.

I assume there's no way to get finer readings from the pump itself because of the lack of decimal places on the DSP. That's unfortunate but I get it, so I expect to see a jump from whole number to whole number at an unfortunately short period.

So my question.

Is there any way to adjust the drop off rate for the virtual temperature?

I don't know what assumptions it makes or if it just has a fixed value that it moves by (based on ambient temperature perhaps?). I am feeding in the ambient temp whenever my weather changes, based on a rounded value from the forecast.

Yes on the config page ;)
It takes the ambient temp into consideration.

Aha I was coming back to ask 'but what do I adjust?' and took another look at the config page and saw the ❓ icon by the virtual temperature, which on hover told me it was the 'Calibrated' option in the SPA Config settings.

I had looked over these pages multiple times but never put 2 and 2 together with the name of the setting 😅

So I've unchecked the box and hit save, and I've hit my boost automation to take it up to 38, so in a few hours I'll turn it off again and let it trundle back down. Maybe it'll be ready for a lunchtime spa 😁 Are there any instructions for making sure the calibration is calculated correctly?

Alrighty I think my jaggies are looking a bit better now.

Here's a graph from Midnight, 1st of July to 8:30am 2nd of July:

So here's what I did:

• Had a spa on the 30th, finished about 10:30pm, temp was showing 35-ish
• Covered it all up and left it with the pump running every hour for 10 mins as usual, just to get spot checks on the temp
• About 10:30 on the 1st, I manually set the calibration on the module's 'Spa Config' page, using the values below:
  
  (I think that's the values I used, might have started at 34)

There's still a few tiny hiccups but overall I call it a success 😁
