Markdown backtick highlight stretches across right gutter in Distraction Free Mode

Description of the bug

The above is distraction free mode in full screen, but it does also happen in regular mode if your window width is just right:

Steps to reproduce

1. Write some text that has a ` as the very last char in that line

Expected behavior

I would expect either:

1. The line is not split on a ` char

OR

2. If it is, the highlight for the backtick does not highlight the gutter space

Actual behavior

Backtick highlight stretches across right gutter space

This actually seems to happen with code block in Markdown mode in Distraction Free Mode in general

Opening backtick should be wrapped in the first place, instead of staying alone on end of line.
