The IRC server shows my local IP

I'm new to IRC and am trying to connect to a server over an I2P/SOCKS5 proxy with Halloy. However, I found that the server is displaying my local address (e.g. 127.1.2.3) in system messages. It also shows messages like this:

connection to server lost (Closing Link: [127.1.2.3...
...
/whois U
U is connecting from *@....b32.i2p 127.1.2.3...

I want to prevent this address from being displayed to everyone, even though it’s local. Is this my client socket address? Are there any options available for this? I expected to see only the .i2p / base address as node identity.

connection to server lost in particular is an internal message and is only displayed within Halloy (it's not sent to the server). So other users won't see it unless you're sharing your screen.

/whois on the other hand, is managed by the server, and is usually managed via cloak (e.g. Libera's cloak). Potentially worth noting that /whois may still show connection info to you even while you're cloaked from other users (e.g. checking Libera's cloak).
