Cannot depend on external packages when using Skip native

I tried adding Supabase in a native Swift project but it won't compile, despite Android support already merged in the official repository. How are you supposed to set it up?

Are you trying to depend on the https://github.com/skiptools/skip-supabase.git repository from your native project? That won't work (since that is only for transpiled projects), but you might be able to depend directly on https://github.com/supabase/supabase-swift.git.

It is completely untested, but in theory it should work. We would be interested in hearing the results!

No, I'm using https://github.com/supabase/supabase-swift.git but it doesn't compile.

Same as adding any other dependency to your Package.swift. Nothing special should need to be done for Skip in the case of a native module.

What errors are you getting? Can you post your Package.swift?

You are right. This is a bug in Skip native handling of external packages. I will transfer this issue to skip and look into it

Skip 1.5.6 fixes this issue. It was due to the supabase-swift's Package.swift using a different package name than the name of the repository (which is rare, but legal).

I've also put up the beginnings of a rudimentary native Skip app that uses the Supabase API at https://github.com/skiptools/skipapp-supachat.git. It is very basic, but it demonstrates using a supabase client and getting a list of messages. It seems to work well in my limited testing.

I gave supachat a try but it seems to not work after changing the name. If I don't set the same name as before it won't load anything

You mean the "name" in the Settings for the app? The app itself is extremely incomplete; it isn't really functional yet, but instead is designed as a starting point for you to fill in the blanks.

Yes. I know it's more of a starting point, but others may not know. Perhaps it's best if it comes with a name by default so it works on launch.

I'm seeing it has a custom setup for using Supabase with Native Swift, what changes do I have to make to convert a transpiled app to a native swift and switch back and forth if needed? Do I have to change the skip mode, Package.swift dependencies and SupabaseClient setup or is there something else?
