Over the last few months, this user has registered a significant number of packages named [popular-project][future-version-number]. A quick look at diffs between published versions of some of the packages and the upstream package they were copied from revealed changes to the code, but none that appeared to indicate actual legitimate work on a newer version of the upstream library.
