@MovieMaker93 our github action set up uses several different configuration, all of which require java to be set up and used to run maven in particular. As part of this set up, we were using a combination of both Java 11 and Java 16 on both Temurin and OpenJ9 distributions. Now that Java 17 is available, it would make sense to test on it instead of Java 16 since it will be the next long-term supported release. See #559 for more details.
Ideally, we'd extract the Java set-up into a reusable fragment using Composite actions: https://docs.github.com/en/actions/creating-actions/creating-a-composite-action
