Candidate commit for releasing 1.1.0-rc2 and switch back to dev. Changelist - v1.1.0-rc1...19a74bc

The current RC1 release #953. did not include the changes for rename of refers field to subject.
v1.1.0-RC2 includes changes from the main trunk instead of cherry-picking to avoiding branching for RCs.
