nextcloud.log fails "check for expected files" while update

In the documentation the example config for file based logging is

"log_type" => "file",
"logfile" => "nextcloud.log",
"loglevel" => 3,
"logdateformat" => "F d, Y H:i:s",

The last update from Nextcloud 31.05 to 31.06 apparently doesnt't expect the log file in /var/www/nextcloud/, so it fails the first check.

Changing the file path to:
"logfile" => "data/nextcloud.log",
resolved the issue for me.

You're right. That example may lead the reader in the wrong direction.

For the record, as long as the default filename is acceptable to you and you're okay with it ending up in your data directory (i.e. a standard installation)... There's no need to have that value at all in your configuration file. Server will default to that path already.
