feat request: otel shall support http protocol and ssl for grpc and http endpoints

The current implementation of otel supports only the grpc endpoint construction, would be beneficial to support also the http interface.

Additional SSL is not available due to missing feature selection.

@harlequin Do you have an example of how you configure this? Using OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_PROTOCOL?
