Deploying local repositories?

i can't find out how to deploy a local git repository. any advice how to do this? i actually don't want to clone, but take the current branch and upload it.

Perhaps you can push your git repo to the server on a separate step? Eg:

$ git remote add server username@server.com:/var/git/project.git
$ git push server master

This pushes, via SSh, your git commits to the server's /var/git/project.git
(be sure to create that first with git init --bare /var/git/project.git).
