i want to remove copilot completely from vscode where are the settings???

i want to remove copilot and its traces from vscode completely, i like to code manually , where's the setting to hide AI features???

Try uninstall or disable the GitHub Copilot and GitHub Copilot Chat extension.

Looks like the old menu in the title bar is gone.

It was removed #264000 by @bpasero but wasn't mentioned in the PR description or title, so I'd call that a stealth removal? I don't know, it definitely feels shifty to me...

Also feels tied to #263837 which has deleted comments on it?

Just weirdness all around with this Copilot/AI stuff.

This is REALLY making me reconsider VSCode as my IDE of choice...

Since bot unexpectedly closed this issue, let me provide some additional details:

• We now have a setting chat.disableAIFeatures that you can use to hide Copilot
• There is still the title bar menu entry that takes the user to this setting (to make it discoverable)

Deactivation is not sufficient.
It should only be an extension and certainly not be installed by default.
