Shift+enter does not send selection to Python REPL

Testing #22533

1. Have selection in Python file and a regular terminal open (no REPL yet)
2. Shift+enter
3. 🐛 a Python REPL is created, but the selection is not sent. I have to shift+enter again

does selection wrongly goes to Terminal instead, or simply get ignored entirely?

It's completely ignored

There was similar issue where commands would go to shell, but im not sure if they are related. #22499
Can you try opting into "pythonTerminalEnvVarActivation" by adding

"python.experiments.optInto": ["pythonTerminalEnvVarActivation"],

in your settings.json and see if you still get the behavior? Thanks
