When profile is set to require follow requests the default visibility is always followers only

This should not be tied to follow requests being enabled, this should be its own thing to set default visibility

Just wanted to add that I just figured this out today too. Apparently all my mobile toots have been followers-only for a few years without me realizing it.

To reproduce:

Open the mobile app (currently I am using "Mastodon for iOS v2024.12 (6951)"). Click the gear icon the upper right. Choose Privacy & Safety. Choose to "Manually approve follow requests" and "Default Post Visibility: Public". Click back. Click Done to save the settings.

Create a toot. In the toot creation modal, notice that the privacy setting for the new toot is set to Followers Only. It should, I think, be Public.

Note that my server's preferences are also to have Public toots by default.

Use case: I mostly intend to toot publicly, very occasionally I toot to followers-only. I'd like to approve my followers. This way, those times that I toot to followers-only, I have done my dilligence to know that the followers who see my private-ish toot are ones that I have vetted.
