Description

@dduportal

We received emails from Netlify which subject is [Netlify] Action required: provide a valid credit card for Jenkins Infra:

Please provide a valid credit card for Jenkins Infra

The billing cycle for your subscriptions has ended. Your projects will be suspended after 25 days. To process your payment and keep your projects up and running, please provide a valid credit card for Jenkins Infra immediately.

(see https://matrix.to/#/!JLUOInpEYmxJIYXlzs:matrix.org/$ZgQWUaHwl-xxBpAqkreTL8yFW0XokD3IqplzYZ4cWe8?via=matrix.org&via=gitter.im&via=g4v.dev for discussions which content is summarized in this issue).

  • As hinted by @timja, I confirm we still have an "Open Source" plan at Netlify as per their UI:

Starting on September 4, 2025, all new Netlify accounts will use the new credit-based pricing plans.

If you’ve created your Netlify account with a Free, Starter, or Pro plan before September 4, 2025, then your pricing plan is now considered a Legacy pricing plan. There is no action required for you. You have the option to switch to a credit-based plan. Learn more about Legacy pricing plans or Billing for legacy pricing plans.

  • Our "Legacy plan" (since September 2025) has been converted automatically to an "Open Source" plan on the 12 January 2026. It provides us the same features as the "pro plan" described in https://www.netlify.com/pricing/#teams (mainly: 3000 credits/month)

We now have to evaluate the consequences:

  • Opening a support case to ask why a credit card is required while they allow "non renewal" credits to avoid being charged

  • Evaluate our usage consumption in regard of the new Open Source Plan to see if it fits

  • Re-evaluate our 2 usages in regard of the change (different risks than before)
