I've downloaded from https://ci.eclipse.org/mail/job/mail-api-build/77/artifact/api/target/jakarta.mail-api-2.1.4-SNAPSHOT.jar and can confirm that the fix makes our implementation functional again. Thank you!

However, I noticed that the build failed presumably deploying the artifacts.

And, next question, any idea when the fix will be officially available in a release?

We don't release since March 2024, but on the other hand we only have this fix for a new release.

@jmehrens do you have in mind some other issue that we should include?.

I think this fix is worth its own release. For us, it's a blocking bug.

I just haven't been free to work on it.

I looked at eclipse-ee4j/angus-mail#151 and it sounds to me like it may be able to break things and needs thorough integration testing. May I suggest to release the clear and simple fix from this ticket separately.

I really don't like to be a nagger, but I'd also love to get an idea of when the fix will be made available? For us, it's really important.

@cubistico the person who makes the releases is on vacations anyway. I am going to try to address eclipse-ee4j/angus-mail#151 first
