Help: mutations

What's the suggested way to add mutations please? I'd like to add support for creating and updating JPA entities.

@molexx There is no support to add mutations right now. I am interested in understanding and discussing your use case to add support for it.

@igdianov thanks. We are using GraphQL as an API layer to access an SQL database from a JavaScript UI. This currently works well for reading existing data but we would like to be able to write - update and create entities - too.

I think a first step would be to allow some access to the schema builder so that users can add mutations - that could be done just by making some methods protected rather than private.

A next step would be to mirror all the generated types as Input types so they could be used in mutations.

The last step would be to generate a mutation field for each entity - referencing the above input types - and either inserting or updating a database record depending on whether a primary key value is passed.

@molexx It sounds good. Would you be willing to create a failing test case based on existing Starwars schema and data and make a PR to help me get the first crack at it?

@molexx I have created an example that wires, builds and merges two schemas from different Sql data sources into a single GraphQL schema using graphql-jpa-query-autoconfigure mechanism.

The mutations can now be added via graphql-java api schema instrumentation or graphql-java-tools library via the same mechanism. I am going to create a mutations example that uses Spring Data Repository integration.
