Have you tried Badger before this proposal? and did not find anything similar?

What you wanted to do.
Badger is currently utilizing the package go.opencensus.io, which has been archived since 2023 and is no longer recommended for use. Additionally, it cannot be downloaded without the Go proxy due to an expired certificate on their site.
I suggest transitioning to OpenTelemetry, as it is now the standard in the industry and is recommended by OpenCensus itself.
For a straightforward solution, we can update the dependency to:
OpenTelemetry Go Bridge for OpenCensus.
