api for generate download link

I wanted to ask if there is an API endpoint that allows generating a temporary download link for a specific file — for example, a link that expires in 2 hours.

The use case is as follows: I have a website where my users need to download specific files, but I don’t want to give them access to the main FileBrowser UI. Instead, I’d like to use the API to generate temporary (e.g., 1-day valid) download links for specific files.

It would also be great if the generated link could be restricted by IP, so only the IP that requested the link can use it to download the file.

Hmm yeah typically this is done via share links I think for consistency I would still have it go through the share workflow. But having an API to get a direct download share link would be a great idea.

Many of these improvements will come in 0.8.x releases

Defaults to 60 minutes expiration if unspecified.

Also, they will show up in the share list and show the download count. And automatically removed when expires.

FYI I just retagged the release because I noticed a few issues as I was making the screenshots. It should all be good in another 15 minutes or so.
