Field Connect is a plugin for QGIS that establishes a connection with Field Desktop, a documentation software for archaeological field and find recording developed as a cooperation between the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) and the Head Office of the GBV Common Library Network (VZG).
The plugin enables the exchange of data between a QGIS project and a Field Desktop installation running on the same computer. In this context, it can also be used to create GeoPackage files from the data of a Field project.
Field Connect can be installed from the official QGIS plugin repository.
Please refer to the user manual for information on how to install and use the plugin.
The user interface is currently available in German and English.
If you'd like to provide translations for another language, please create a GitHub issue. The translation process takes place via the platform Weblate maintained by the DAI.
