@allenhouchins

Description

@allenhouchins

Fleet version: Latest on dogfood
Web browser and operating system: Any

💥  Actual behavior

Fleet is not identifying OpenVPN Connect as being installed. As a result, showing end users updates in Self-service or presenting an uninstall script are not possible.

🛠️ To fix

TBD during estimation

🧑‍💻  Steps to reproduce

These steps:

  • Have been confirmed to consistently lead to reproduction in multiple Fleet instances.
  • Describe the workflow that led to the error, but have not yet been reproduced in multiple Fleet instances.
  1. Run brew install openvpn-connect or download it from their website and install it: https://openvpn.net/client/
  2. Observe application gets installed at /Applications/OpenVPN Connect/OpenVPN Connect.app and is symlinked to /Applications
  3. Note the app does not appear to be installed on a host record however, we are identifying the Uninstall app that gets installed in the same location
