Getting the current user is flaky when cross compiling

When you cross compile on OSX to Linux, you don't have access to user.Current()

Figure out a new way to get the user's home directory.

This is already pretty flakey on OS X in the Ruby version :/ I'm not sure what the best approach to this is.

I just did this on Friday for an app I am working on at work. Just a
reminder for me to implement it. :-)
