DMs sent while being "away" are not notified

When a user is away and someone sends them a DM, they are not made aware of it until the recipient starts a conversation with the user who sent the DMs. Is there something in the settings to change this behavior? Is there a plan to notify the recipient when they come back online?

This might be also be the case for rooms in which a user is tagged.

Could you clarify what you mean by "away" --- is this away in the sense of the AWAY command, or offline? What client are you using?

Details will depend on client support, but if I understand the problem correctly, it can be fixed by enabling always-on and history playback, as per the userguide: https://github.com/ergochat/ergo/blob/master/docs/USERGUIDE.md#always-on

By "away" I mean what is shown by TheLounge, the user being offline. always-on and history playback are both already enabled

Ergo's always-on and history playback features make The Lounge redundant. It sounds like this is a bad interaction with The Lounge, but it's not immediately clear to me what is going wrong (how would the user be "offline" from TL's perspective?)

Have you considered using Ergo with stateless Gamja or Kiwi as the frontend?

Sorry, I meant that TheLounge shows the user as "away", but the user who is away is using kiwiirc and that's the one that didn't get notified

I went with kiwiirc since it seemed more "modern looking" than Gamja and seemed to have decent popularity. This fitted well into Arcadia. Do you think there's a chance this bug gets fixed?
