Feature Request: "Conversation Wrap-Up Signal" or "Snapshot Summary" Option

Summary
It would greatly improve user experience if DeepSeek could initiate—or be prompted to provide—a brief, structured summary of the current conversation before it ends. This would help users retain context across sessions and reduce the abruptness of chat termination.

Problem
Currently, conversations with DeepSeek end without warning. There's no sense of closure, and no automatic way to carry context into a future chat. While users can manually request summaries, they often don't think to do so until after the conversation has already ended—especially when discussions pivot across multiple topics (e.g., auto repair, elderly care, medical advice, product research). This creates friction and disrupts continuity, particularly for users who return to the same subject over time.

Proposed Solution
Introduce one or both of the following:

  1. User-Initiated Snapshot: Allow users to request a "conversation summary" at any time (e.g., via a command like "Generate snapshot" or a UI button). The summary would capture key decisions, recommendations, and context in a portable format the user can copy and save.
  2. AI-Initiated Wrap-Up: After a certain number of exchanges—or when the AI detects the conversation is winding down—DeepSeek could offer to generate a summary, saying something like:
"Jim, before we wrap, would you like me to summarize where we landed?"
This mimics a natural conversational cue and empowers the user to capture what matters most.

Why It Matters
This feature would:

· Improve continuity across sessions
· Reduce cognitive load for users managing multiple or complex topics
· Create a more natural, respectful ending to interactions
· Empower users to retain value from conversations without needing to remember everything

Additional Context
This request came out of a real user need expressed during a conversation about selecting a vacuum cleaner—but it applies broadly. Users are already manually copying summaries into notes; this would formalize and streamline that workaround into a proper feature.

I have been using DeepSeek since V1. I would love to see chats not end, because history and context in the user/ai relationship is important. As you know better than i DeepSeek ai is much more that a shopping tool. I have used DS for automotive, household repairs and more importantly for medical issues, elder care, and other mental health issues not to mention philosophical discussions…i have seen that DS starts to understand the person(s) and larger dynamics of a family. It’s a shame to loose that continuity from chat to chat.
