Actually, no, @steppi, I think I added jupytext to the [docs] dependencies for 0.17.0 but it should be a default dependency. I've opened jupyterlite/jupyterlite-sphinx#236 for it, and this should not be merged.
It is very likely that the current package version for this feedstock is out of date.
