Discussion: Gorilla websockets are in read-only mode

Hey I was wondering if there would be any reason to change out the websockets library that discordgo uses since gorilla is no longer maintained.

If yes, I'd be able to work on the changes around May/June as I am currently finishing University and have quite a heavy workload

The repo has been unarchived 2 weeks ago and there's an open PR to update things at gorilla/websocket#840. Perhaps this won't be necessary anymore gorilla/.github@a3cb1a3

On the other hand it looks like it will only support recent go versions (1.19 and 1.20) while this library is still supporting 1.13. I don't know enough about how Go does things to discern if that would be a problem.
