Yabai Randomly Resets All Spaces

Unsure exactly how to discuss this issue, as it seems to happen randomly and not necessarily due to a sequence of events.

I've ensured all of my functions like balance and mirror only run on that particular space using the space flag.

However, occasionally I'll adjust a layout or something, and then when I move back to my previous spaces they all then readjust losing the previously set layout. It seems to stay using BSP, but just runs a re-layout. I'm not certain, but maybe anecdotally I see it occur after I run my center command: alt - c : yabai -m window --toggle float --grid 1:4:1:0:2:1. However, this should only affect the current window and not cause a relayout correct?

Has anyone noticed this happening? I'm not sure how I might monitor the logs to find out exactly what's happening, but I come to the community for assistance!

Sounds like the yabai process crashes and restarts; likely #2606 based on the command chain you mentioned.

Sounds similar to what you've written in the linked issue. I noticed, at least today, that a particular window was not being managed all of a sudden, so I ran alt - c : yabai -m window --toggle float to toggle floating in which the window was correctly managed, but caused a relayout of all windows on the space, and subsequent spaces upon changing.

I was able to replicate the error and track down a log of what occurred, please find it below.

Basically I opened Slack, it wasn't managed, I ran my --toggle float command and it then caused the restart.
