This was added by me in 61a5cce. The real fix will be added in SPARK-4281.

I'm merging this into master and 1.2 as a hot fix because tests are irrelevant to the changes here.

Test build #23028 has started for PR 3145 at commit c78be61.

  • This patch merges cleanly.
