toolbar buttons appearing in the wrong place upon opening

• My version of Firefox is up to date (for 115, this means being on at least 115.16.1)
• My copy of Geckium is up to date (no update option in the hamburger/spanner menu)
• I deleted the entire "chrome" folder from my Firefox Profile, if there was one, before installing Geckium

Summarise the issue

whenever i open firefox up the toolbar buttons that normally go next to the search address bar always show up in the tab space above (as seen in the screenshot) and every time i always click customize toolbar to fix it my changes dont appear to be saved

its a minor annoyance but i'd like to get it fixed
