Channel types - what do the codes mean?

The sites endpoint returns channel codes such as B1, E1, Q1, K1 - what do these correspond to?

They are internal meter channels on your smart meter. They are linked to your tariff. E1 is your real power import channel, B1 is your real power export channel. Q1 and K1 are apparent power channels - we ignore these in the API.
