[Enhancement] Preference to create new tab next to the active tab

Right now, when you use the keybinding:

mod+t=create-new

It opens a new tab at the end of all the tabs you have already open. I will always prefer to create a new tab next to the currently active tab.

If you only have 2 o 3 tabs open, it really doesn't matter to you, but if you use a lot of tabs, well... it matters. At least to me. I have to drag and drop tabs all the time because of this and I didn't find any option to change this default behavior.

It would be nice to be able to change this default behavior 🙏.

Added:
Allow to select the default "New Tab Position" (#904) from the settings menu at Settings -> Document -> Global Settings -> New Tab Position.

Yes, new tab opening right now is configurable, but what about opening files (with ctrl+o) or just selecting them from a file tree, that still opens at the end of tab bar. May be all those openings should consider this setting? Thank you.

Honestly, I don't know? I followed what @soulchainer requested but since I don't use this feature I did not think much about it. I guess it makes sense to use it for any document opening? I don't mind changing it, it's trivial. Do you want that @kzorp ?

It's just that here (for myself) I saw a certain impermanence, one time it will open like this, the other like this. And, if we are talking about the features of opening new tabs, is it possible to open a new tab by double-clicking the left mouse button on the tab bar? I've seen this somewhere, and it's also convenient. Ah, it's already done! But, if empty tab bar isn't visible it cannot be done. So double-clicking not only on a tabbar but tab itself should open new tab, in cases, where all tabbar is occupied. It's just from my usecase, where, after filling all tabbar with tabs i cannot more opening new tabs with just double-clicking lmb. Thank you.

I agree anyways, I'll update all file openings to use all the same rules.

Yes, this is intentional but I really don't mind changing it, I personally do not like opening a new tab double-clicking an existing tab, basically because it's not that hard to mis-double-click when dragging tabs. But at very least the tab -> right click should display an option to open a new tab / document (which is not currently available). As you might guess, I'm not a mouse driven user, so I don't personally use any of these things.

Regarding this topic, I just checked the most popular editors and all behave like ecode, double-click on unused space opens a new file, double click in tab does nothing, right click menu does not display an option to open a new file since it's contextual (i mean, options are always related to the tab clicked). So I think I'll keep it as it.

Yes, I think that one can somehow customize the tabbar styles so that there is always an empty space on it and you can click on it. Even if it is completely filled with tabs.
