What specific problem does this solve?

In most cases, even if Roo knows the OS name, it doesn't always use the Windows PowerShell-specific command for Terminal. You should add context to Roo that, most of the time, it gonna use Powershell/Bash/Zsh (Based on the platform). Don't feed all together. Just add based on OS and VS Code version. Either the AI may fall into hallucination in long context.

PR #5661 has been created to address this issue. The implementation adds comprehensive platform-specific terminal context to help Roo choose appropriate commands based on the user's OS and shell.

Hey, thanks for the proposal! We already provide OS and shell information in the system prompt. I don't think adding more platform-specific context like PR #5661 does would actually fix the issue - if anything, it might encourage the model to use the terminal more.

I think the real issue might be that we have some Unix-specific references in the system prompt (like mentioning $HOME and setting PAGER to 'cat' for non-Windows systems) that could be confusing the model. Removing or making these references more platform-neutral would probably have a better result than adding more terminal guidance.
