The KSB Dark Theme Extension is a Chrome browser add-on specifically designed for students of Kyberna High School. It enhances the visual appearance of the KybernaIS site by applying a dark theme, making it more comfortable for night-time browsing and reducing eye strain.
This extension is intended exclusively for students of Kyberna High School. For non-students, this extension will not provide any functionality.
Developed out of a personal need for a more eye-friendly interface during night hours, this project has grown into a fully-featured extension that benefits all students who prefer a dark-themed experience.
The extension boasts a variety of features designed to improve usability and aesthetics:
- Dark Theme Conversion: Automatically converts the entire KybernaIS site into a dark theme
- Theme Selection in Popup UI: Offers the choice to switch between three different themes (Light, Dark-Blue, Dark-Red) directly from the popup UI
- Calendar Enhancements: Adjusts the calendar interface for better visibility and differentiation of events
- Grading Panel Visibility: Enhances the visibility of grades and assessment components
- Navigation Improvements: Improves the navigation bar with hover effects and dark theme compatibility
- Table Enhancements: Enhances tables with clear color distinctions to improve data readability
- Real-Time UI Adjustments: Actively updates the UI to maintain readability and aesthetics during live changes
- Extension Popup Interface: Provides a dark theme for the extension's popup interface for a consistent experience
To install the KSB Dark Theme Extension, follow these steps:

Download the
.zipfile from the releases page -
Extract the contents into a new folder

Open Chrome and navigate to the Extensions page (
chrome://extensions/) -
Enable Developer mode

Click on 'Load unpacked' and select the folder where you extracted the extension files

The extension should now be installed and active

After installation, navigate to the KybernaIS site, and the dark theme will automatically be applied. Explore the site as usual, and enjoy the new dark aesthetic

Please note that the KybernaIS Made Better Extension is currently only available for Chrome. There are no plans to release it for Firefox or other web browsers.
I am constantly exploring ways to improve the design of this extension. Although it's unlikely, I may consider a future redesign using Tailwind CSS. However, this is a low-priority possibility at the moment.
