Tried to install Linux Mint 22.1, X server doesn't work, had to switch to version
System:
Kernel: 6.8.0-65-generic x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: N/A Desktop: Cinnamon 5.4.12 tk: GTK 3.24.33
wm: Mutter dm: LightDM Distro: Linux Mint 21 Vanessa base: Ubuntu 22.04 jammy

Hello, thank you! I'm not quite sure on which forum I should report.

It's in the README file. The open driver supports Turing and newer Nvidia architectures. GTX 580 is part of Fermi and that's older than Turing. Just get the proprietary driver!
