Clicking on a payee with no transactions shows invalid data

Went to the payee view.

I did a search in the payee list for a substring. I got a whole bunch of hits : good.

The resulting list appears to contain payees that have no transactions associated with them - I figured that out by searching for * in transactions (got the 35K+ entries) and sorted by payee and did not see the payee. This is probably by design.

If I click on one of the entries for which I know there are no transactions, the list of transactions in the right pane is not refreshed to show empty, but rather still shows the list of transactions from the previous payee.

Not sure what you mean but note that when you search by Payee or by Category it also searches your "Splits" for matches and creates a fake transaction containing just the matching split. If you press F8 on one of those it will take you to the original transaction from which the matching split was found.

I hit the unhandled exception trying to build a repro scenario for this. The two bugs may well be related.

Found a bug where space normalization in Payee names was not supporting legacy Payees that contain multiple spaces, so you should see those payees now and I fixed the bug where the list does not clear when there are no transactions for a given payee (or category).
