Releases: MollyMaclachlan/ToR-Repost-Collection
2022-02-17
I've created a new wiki directory structure for easier navigation and use of this repository. Additionally, I created a changelog file to allow a rolling log of yet unreleased changes. Releases will hopefully be roughly monthly, but I'm never consistent so who knows.
Aside from that, a contributing guide should be coming soon, and here are the actual template changes since last August:
- Changed all templates to the new footer. (@MurdoMaclachlan)
- The following templates were also updated:
- Change my Mind: fixed heading formatting. (@MurdoMaclachlan)
- Enby: fixed heading formatting. (@MurdoMaclachlan)
- Is This: added paragraphs for readability, corrected subtitle formatting. (@MurdoMaclachlan)
- Tomboy: fixed heading formatting. (@MurdoMaclachlan)

2021 May Summary
This month has been all about u/KomaedaEatsBagels, who not only contributed the Blue Shirt Comptuer Guys meme, but also got to work on the wojak directory I had been completely avoiding, and did some absolutely fantastic work, contributing a total of 34 templates (2 memes, 32 individual character descriptions), taking the repository past 100 individual templates. The 100th committed, if you're interested, was the "Wither" wojak in the classic wojak category.
The following templates were added this month:
- Blue Shirt Computer Guys (Generic)
- Gender Jaks (Wojak)
- Single Character Wojaks (Wojak):
- Black: Beaded Cornrows, Buzzed Bearded, Dreadlocks, Natural Hair Hoops, Two-Tone Pigtails
- Classic: Classic, Feel, Go Home, Gun, NPC, Smug, Wither
- Doomers: Doomer Boy, Doomer Girl, Tradfem

- Miscellaneous: Brainlet, Daddy, Grug, Mommy, Norf FC, Nujak, Pink, Poljak, Princess
- Soyjaks vs Chads (Wojak)
Thanks to:
- u/KomaedaEatsBagels, for providing the "Blue Shirt Computer Guys" template and for doing insane work on the wojak directory, as detailed above.
All in all, the repository now has 53 memes/reposts, with a total of 105 individual templates (including multiple versions of the same repost and single character descriptions). In April, 3 new memes/reposts and a total of 35 individual templates, were added.
2021 April Summary
Assignments & exams this month, so yet again not as much as I'd like was done, but I did get a little bit of work on the Repost collection in, especially towards the end of the month. Added a template here and there, updated a couple. In fact, the collection hit 50 total memes this month, with the fiftieth being "Oh Dear, Gorgeous"! I also re-ordered the template variation links for the Drake entry in the Generic README take make them alphabetical.
And as a final little note, I detached the repository from being a fork of codingJWilliams' original, so it's now its own thing instead. This doesn't really change much other than I will no longer accidentally create pull requests to the original repo instead of the master branch of this one.
The following templates were added this month:
- Oh Dear, Gorgeous (Generic)
- Sayori Drake No Table Variation* (LGBT+)
- This Little Maneuver (Generic)
*Variation on an existing template
The following templates were edited this month:
- Drake; updated to be more consistent with the style of newer templates, improved a couple of descriptions, added some missing punctuation.
- Expanding Brain; fixed incomplete footer.
- Gru-Flipchart; updated to be more consistent with the style of newer templates.
- Patrick Not My Wallet; fixed incomplete footer.
- Sayori Drake; changed to not assume prior knowledge of Drake, added some missing punctuation.
- Wish All a Very; expanded to include "i wish all" and "a very" as consistent parts of the meme rather than being bundled into the placeholder, since I have yet to see an instance without them.
Thanks to:
- u/--B_L_A_N_K--, for requesting the "This Little Maneuver".
- u/knightttime, who pointed out incomplete footers in a couple of templates.
- u/metaquarx, for requesting "Oh Dear, Gorgeous" and providing his transcription as a basis.
All in all, the repository now has 50 memes/reposts, with a total of 72 individual templates (including multiple versions of the same repost). In April, 2 new memes/reposts and a total of 3 individual templates, were added.
2021 March Summary
March was a bit more productive than February, but not as much as I'd have liked. Blame me transcribing instead of working on this my assignments.
Anyway; I renamed the traa directory to lgbtplus, or LGBT+ as it's written outside of the directory name (special characters in directories being bad business and all that), since a lot of the resposts included there are used throughout the wider LGBT+ Reddit community and are not specific to r/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns. I also got the chance to add a few more templates, and from now on I will be appending the directory that each template belongs to after its entrance in the monthly summaries.
The following templates were added this month (templates marked with an asterisk were adapted from the Image ID Google Doc):
- John Mulaney Reactions (Generic) (*)
- Tuxedo Winnie the Pooh (Generic)
- Wish All A Very (LGBT+)
- You Guys Just (Generic) (*)
Many thanks to /u/astheriae, who offered her transcription as a basis for the "Tuxedo Winnie the Pooh" template.
All in all, the repository now has 48 memes/reposts, with a total of 69 (nice) individual templates (including multiple versions of the same repost). In March, 4 new memes/reposts, totalling 4 individual templates, were added, with 2 of them, totaling 2 individual template, being adapted from the Image ID Google Doc.
Technically, the repository has a couple other changes at the moment, but they were done in April and so they go in the April Summary and we forget this ever happened.
2021 February Summary
This month was not as active as January, mainly due to university, but /u/outrageous_cat's sharing of a google doc full of image descriptions in the Discord server was very helpful. This doc has been crowdsourced and isn't related to ToR at all, so I'm intending to reformat the descriptions provided to fit our templates, although so far I've only found the time to do one of them. I hope to do a lot more in March.
The following templates were added this month:
- Squidward's lounge chair
- Surprised Pikachu
- This is worthless
- What the hell is this
Many thanks to /u/Tim3303, who requested the "Squidward's lounge chair" and "What the hell is this" templates and offered his transcriptions as a basis for them.
All in all, the repository now has 44 memes/reposts, with a total of 66 individual templates (including multiple versions of the same repost). In February, 4 new memes/reposts, totalling 4 individual templates, were added.
2021 January Summary
The repost collection has had some major changes this month, namely being forked. The original repository was last updated in 2019, and memes grow and change quickly. Many of those in the collection are still in use today, but there are many more new ones that need to be added. I've begun work on this, but it's slow due to my inexperience with transcribing memes and university butting in all the time.
Now would be a good time to shamelessly ask if anyone wants to help with the templates we need. Also, if you have any templates you're looking to get added, open an issue and consider opening a pull request if you have the time to write the template yourself. There are a few already waiting for someone to pick up on; I'll probably do a few myself over the next month, but as I've said, university takes up a lot of time.
In terms of the actual changes in the repository this month:
- The following templates were added:
- Bernie Sanders Iowa Victory Speech Reactions
- Double Soda Pour
- Robin Holding a Whiteboard
- Vince McMahon Reactions
- Many templates were enhanced (mainly in small ways, such as increasing consistency across all templates)
- A few mistakes in formatting/spelling were fixed
- A couple of links in the README's were fixed,
- I added some specific links to the Drakeposting README entry, since it didn't have specific links for the different variants (detailed table, concise table, no table)
- I also added links for the Sayori Drake variant in the traa directory, since they had been missing.
- I reformatted all of the names to use dashes instead of underlines because I dislike underlines. This took the most work but is probably also the most inconsequential to people who don't hate looking at underlines.
- I also followed through with void's old plan of adding description files to the folder of each meme. She'd already done much of this work; I just finished it.
All in all, the repository now has 40 memes/reposts, with a total of 62 individual templates (including multiple variations of the same repost). In Janurary, 4 new memes/reposts, totalling 4 individual templates, were added.
