Content not updating when modifying annotations

This is more of a question then a bug.

So I modified an annotation and I was expecting that the annotation would be linked in the page, but it seems it's part of the content of the page. Is there an option to update the annotation in the page content? Or this should be done by decoding the content and doing it by hand?
