Increase native test coverage and add fuzzing

What does this PR do?:
It adds a number of fuzzing tests.
It also adds a few simple fixes for issues identified by those tests.

Motivation:
Increasing the test coverage to improve the library stability

Additional Notes:
The tests are all generated by Cursor
