About

The BitCurator Environment is a Ubuntu-based Linux distribution designed to support the needs of library, archive, and museum professionals processing born-digital materials. It includes a suite of open source disk imaging, digital forensics, and data analysis tools curated to support modern workflows.

This is the release management wiki for the BitCurator Environment. It contains installation documentation, release notes, and information on technical requirements for the environment.

  • Visit the BitCurator Quick Start Guide for detailed instructions on installing and getting started with the BitCurator Environment. The Quick Start page will always apply to the current major release of BitCurator. Previous releases can be located in the sidebar of this page, and include the text (#.X.X) denoting which major version they apply to.
