Edge reported a crash caused by a NullPointerException (NPE) in DisplayMask (see https://identitydivision.visualstudio.com/Engineering/_workitems/edit/3094140). We mitigated this in the previous release by catching the NPE #2662. This PR addresses the root cause of the issue.
Additionally, 'DisplayMask' has been a recurring pain point for users onboarding to MSAL, as highlighted in issue #1027
