Add raw2aces build container

Here is the list of dependencies (min version) rawtoaces currently uses:

• ceres-solver (1.12)
• imath (3.1.8)
• libraw (0.19.4)
• boost (1.76)

There is also a branch which replaces all of the dependencies above with:

• OpenImageIO (3.0)
• nlohmann-json

We are not ready to make the switch, so can we have the both lists please.

2024.3 / 2025.2 / 2026.0 releases include a rawtoaces Conan package and a ci-rawtoaces build container.

Could you please take a look at this: it seems the version of Ceres-solver present on the images was built using Eigen 3.4.0, whereas the version 3.3.4 is installed. Can we try updating Eigen to v3.4.0 please? Alternatively, downgrading Ceres-solver to 1.12 should also work.

The versions I used are:

• ceres-solver: 2.2.0
• eigen: 3.4.0

Looking at the Conan package that builds Eigen, it doesn't have support for 3.3.4:

While running inside the container aswf/ci-rawtoaces:2026.0 I see:

What may be happening is that in your ci.yml you have:

      - name: Dependencies

        run: |
            build_scripts/install_aces_container.bash
            sudo yum install --setopt=tsflags=nodocs -y eigen3-devel ceres-solver-devel LibRaw-devel

With the recently released 2024.2 / 2025.0 / 2026.0 ci-rawtoaces images you shouldn't need to do that, since all the dependencies should be included in the container image.

Of course you could be working in a branch I don't see, but can you confirm that in /usr/local/include/eigen3 you are indeed seeing Eigen 3.4.0?

I can see that header, it is indeed 3.4.0. I can't find the cmake config files for Eigen3 though.

Hi @antond-weta I've just released 2026.1 / 2025.3 / 2024.4 versions of the aswf/ci-rawtoaces build image, and verified that I am able to build rawtoaces 1.1 against the dependencies included in there. Can you give it a try and let me know if that works for you?

Hi @jfpanisset, they work nicely! Much faster than installing all dependencies.

I had to install these dependencies in order to make the main branch build: json-devel, nanobind, pytest. It would be great if those came preinstalled, but the containers are perfectly usable as they are now.

In your branch you are installing json-devel using yum / dnf, so I'm guessing the version in EPEL8 (3.6.1-2.el8) is sufficient.

For nanobind, several projects are moving exploring it / moving to it from pybind11, and there seems to be a Conan recipe for 2.9.2:

so it makes sense to add that. I would probably want to build my own specific version.

As for pytest, it would be fairly trivial to add it via pip as your #213 PR does.

I'm going to close this specific issue, and I've created #309 to keep track of this.
