Auto-closing tabs after specified times/renaming tabs

I'm a user coming from Arc browser, and I'm missing a few of the workflow options from Arc. I would love for my unpinned tabs to be automatically closed after a certain amount of time, I've really come to love having a clean slate when I open the browser on a new day. On that same note, the ability to rename tabs would be a welcomed addition. It's nice for organization.

bumping this, also clearing unpinned tabs should also be a one-click operation instead of context menu -> close multiple -> close below

"Close window" will close all tabs in that window irrespective of whether they are essential/pinned/normal tabs. There's a keyboard shortcut to do the same: Cmd+Shift+W on mac with an equivalent in windows/linux.

well 1. it's not working for me and 2. even if it's working, closing essential or pinned tabs kinda goes against the general idea of having these tabs isn't it?

Agreed - put a little menu opposite the new tab button with a quick action and a dropdown to perform certain tab organization tasks - sorting or grouping by x, close all older than x 1 time, turning on auto-close, etc

This is honestly a large dealbreaker for me. I currently have a script for this (self-made extension), but it would be nice to have this as a feature in Zen itself.

What made Arc browser work for me was the combination of persistent tabs in the workspaces (pinned vs 'essentials' or whatever is nice, but the key thing is that they are always there) plus a long tail of tabs that auto-close. I'm loving Zen mainly because it removes so much cruft that had built up in arc, but this is a big one for me and the missing piece to make this a real Arc alternative.

A bonus feature I always hoped would come would be the ability to quickly sort tabs from around the + New Tab button - like sort by domain, container or last used.

If there are extensions that can reproduce these features reliably i'm interested but so far i have had limited luck.

This was the killer feature of Arc, it doesn't make sense that Zen doesn't have it

Many users have come and will continue to come after Arc. This feature is extremely convenient and very necessary!
