Agentic Mode is unusable. Is someone maintaining a legacy fork?

Havent updated avante for a while, unfortunately the latest developments break all my workflows and the agentic stuff isnt even working.

the legacy mode also doesnt work. basically its all bricked for me now.
is anyone maintaining a fork that implements the legacy UX?

the agentic mode just takes my prompt, repeats the code in the prompt buffer and pretends like its doing something, burns some tokens and then stops. sometimes it just loops.

There are a dozent of issues open in this repo with people having the same issues.

I tried resetting to 0.0.23, which seems is the last commit before this agentic stuff got added. but im just getting

i guess my question was not clear, sorry. I meant what exactly in the normal (not agentic) mode is breaking your workflow?

@zeroknots Above error is caused because even though you pinned avante.nvim to v0.0.23, the libraries in build/lib*.so are latest and correspond to v0.0.24.
I fixed this issue in #2194 but the fix will not be available in older version like yours.

You can copy the build.sh from my PR to ~/.local/share/nvim/lazy/avante.nvim/build.sh and run make in same directory.

Or you can manually download the artifacts from https://github.com/yetone/avante.nvim/releases/tag/v0.0.23 and place in ~/.local/share/nvim/lazy/avante.nvim/build

This will move you to v0.0.23

NOTE: If you update the build.sh, be careful of undoing the build.sh changes otherwise future updates via lazy.nvim will cause issue. lazy.nvim also gives a hint about how to fix them.

Getting the same with copilot models. I have some success on claude 4 sonnet through claude provider, but not through copilot.

Disabling replace_in_file resolved my case, although I don't know what's happening under the hood.

Following up a conversation in discord, a PR got merged that may fix that. It seems like copilot models had a harder time following the rules of that tool and needed an extra example
