We (the Soniox team) would like to propose adding Soniox as a new first-party provider to the Vercel AI SDK.

Soniox is a speech AI platform specializing in high-accuracy transcription and translation. Adding support for it would allow users to leverage key capabilities such as:

• Multilingual support: Transcription and translation across 60+ languages – including dialects, accents, and mixed phrases.
• Token-level timestamps: Granular timing information for precise alignment.
• Language hints and restrictions: improving accuracy by biasing recognition toward specific languages.
• Context: Ability to provide domain-specific terms and global context to improve recognition.

Proposed Scope

We propose implementing the Transcription interface using the Soniox Async API. This maps well to the SDK's existing transcription methods, allowing for robust processing of audio files.
