This needs a top tech tier company behind it to become widely adopted

Having a top tech tier company behind this project could help it become widely adopted, in my opinion. The reason is that people are more prone to be influenced when they see releases from a reputable institution/organization/person. It is just how most humann minds work.

Someone told me that http://docopt.org/ tried it and didn't work. I don't know the reason. Maybe it was the name which didn't help with organic growth through search engines. Or maybe it didn't have any support from a highly reputable organization.

Hopefully, someone will take the spec and run with it. I'm already doing it in other projects so I'm happy just to be able to consume it for my own sake, but if no one tries anything, nothing will happen.

You have to convince a cli project such as OCLIF to adopt your idea. Talk to oclif owners. It is a salesforce project. If you get them onboarded you will be able to influence others
