Problem with UseDeepCloning

Hello, I am evaluating Mapperly for a project I am working on and have run into a problem. Hoping I can get some advice...

This works as expected:

[Mapper]
public partial class MapperlyTest
{
    public partial DataEntity ToDataEntity(DTO request);
}

But with UseDeepCloning I get compile-time error "Partial method 'MapperlyTest.ToDataEntity(DTO)' must have an implementation part because it has accessibility modifiers."

[Mapper(UseDeepCloning = true)]
public partial class MapperlyTest
{
    public partial DataEntity ToDataEntity(DTO request);
}

This is with .net8.

Any idea how to fix? Thanks!

What IDE in what version are you using? Does it work if you build woth a CLI?

Hi, I use Visual Studio 2022, currently on Version 17.13.5. The project is a class library in C#, .net 8. Have not tried to build with CLI, and the IDE displays red jagged lines under the class name reporting the problem even without building.

The classes are pretty simple, such as class AAA { public int Id {get; set; } public BBB b {get; set;} }. A wrinkle is that one of the properties of class BBB is a struct, so class BBB { public string name {get; set;} public DateStruct dt {get; set;} } and then struct DateStruct { public int month {get; set;} public int year {get; set; } }

If that doesn't help you identify the issue then I'll see if I can create a mini-project with similar classes to reproduce the problem.

Could you please attempt to build it using the command line interface? If that works, it's likely an issue with your IDE. If it doesn't, I'll need a minimal reproducible.
