This is news to me, I've never needed to switch this setting to date. I've just tested and tablet support works for me (testing with osu!tablet 2024) even without input monitoring enabled. Maybe this is specific to a specific tablet model? |

It doesn't seem OTD offers any specific method to know whether the user is missing permissions to have their tablets detected, but nevertheless, there's supposed to be a FAQ page linked, but it wasn't on macOS. Should be addressed by #33981. |

on macOS, osu!lazer's built in Tablet driver does not work until you enable the Input Monitoring permission in macOS settings and restart the game:
however, while this permission is disabled, the tablet driver can still be "enabled" and there is no prompt about it - it just doesn't detect any tablets.
it would be good if the game could check if this permission is enabled, and if not, put something in the Tablet section of the settings, mentioning this permission needs to be enabled in order to use a tablet
