Applied as Faculty Instead of Student – What Can I Do?

Hi everyone,

I think I made a mistake while applying for GitHub Education. Instead of applying as a student, I accidentally selected Faculty, and my request was approved that way.

But I’m actually a student and I was really hoping to get the Student Developer Pack benefits.

Does anyone know what I can do in this situation? Can I switch from teacher verification to student verification?

Any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Hi,
yes, you can switch. you just need to contact GitHub education support and ask them to reset your verification so you can reapply as a student.
since your application was approved as faculty, you will need GitHub to reset or reclassify it.
Go to (https://support.github.com/contact?tags=github-edu).
Open a ticket explaining that you mistakenly applied as faculty instead of student, and that you’d like to switch to a student developer pack.
