Hi @arjavrawal, If your webcam isn’t working, the best option is to contact GitHub Education Support. They can manually verify your documents if the automatic camera flow doesn’t work. Hope this helps! |

Hi @arjavrawal It sounds like you're running into a bit of a challenge with uploading your student ID, especially given the digital-only nature of your ID and the camera issues. Here are a few steps that might help you work around this:
Since your student ID is digital, you can try taking a screenshot of your student ID on your phone or computer. You could then upload the screenshot as an image file. Make sure that all the necessary information (like your name, student number, etc.) is visible and clear.
If your current webcam isn't working, try using a different device if possible. For instance, you could: Use your phone’s camera to take a photo of the screen displaying your digital ID. Use a tablet, another laptop, or even a friend’s computer to upload the image. If the system specifically requires a webcam and yours isn't functioning, it’s worth checking if there’s any software issue preventing it from working or if you need to update drivers.
If the above options don’t work or the system continues to reject your proof of ID, the best course of action is to contact the support team for GitHub Education. Let them know about your specific situation (digital-only student ID and camera issue) and ask if there are any alternative ways to submit your proof, such as uploading a PDF of your student ID. You can contact support via the GitHub Education Help Page or GitHub support ticket.
If the system is very strict about ID verification, you could check if your university provides an official enrollment letter or a PDF version of your student ID. Often, these are acceptable forms of proof for services that require verification. I hope one of these suggestions helps! Let me know if you need more assistance, and good luck with your verification process. 🙂 |

Hi everyone,
Hey all - I'm a student at ASU and our student IDs are digital only. I tried holding up my phone to the camera but it got rejected. I don't have any way of showing the transcripts or any other proofs as it requires me to use a webcam instead of uploading PDF files, and my camera doesn't work. Would appreciate some guidance as to how to address this issue. Thanks!
